You have reached one of the most depressing places on the grid. Wylieville. This city was once a thriving and lively place full of people, but today, most of the houses are being abandoned. The shops are closed or damaged, roads lead to nowhere and the only remaining factory in town can just barely sustain the few workers still living in Wylieville.

Far away from the eye of the law, the city has evolved into a dark place. You really don't want to wander the streets alone--unless you are looking for prey. If you are unfortunate enough to be caught by a nightly predator, don't scream. It only makes them angry, and the police won't be of much help. In fact, they would only make matters worse for you.

Rules:
=======

We don't really have rules in Wylieville. Basically anything goes that fits into urban surroundings, any species or genders are welcome to play. Just try not to disturb other people's roleplays, and try fitting your avatar's size to match a normal city setup. Vehicles and other objects you need may be rezzed or used, but you should always pick up what you don't need anymore later. Use common sense.

We have a group you can join to stay in touch with other roleplayers, call police, report crimes in progress and generally conduct RP in the city. The group's name is "Wylieville", and you can join it from the information booth at the hotel lobby or by copy/pasting this link to your local chat:

Wylieville has a number of RLV traps and devices for you to use. Look out for the yellow/black signs telling you where to find (most of) them. We intentionally try not to use permanently visible poseballs, so they don't disturb the looks of the city.


Special Items:
================

We are trying to make the city as "real" as possible. One part of this approach are special items in the city that are interactive, even though they might not look it at first sight. So be playful, explore things and try to find out what hidden functionalities you can uncover. The subway stations contain teleporters to different parts of the city. Just click on the blue signs or walk into the subway tunnels. Just beware of the trains.

Experiences:
===============

Wylieville uses a Second Life functionality known as "Experiences". This is a convenience feature to request permissions for items inside the experience to run animations, attach items or teleport your avatar without having to ask for permission every time. It creates a much more seamless operation and allows for some really nice interactive designs. Wylieville uses experiences for auto attaching some props like telephone receivers and runs animations like hailing a taxi by waving your hand. It will also teleport you to other places when you walk through tunnels or fall into the water.

Rentals:
==========

If you think you could live in Wylieville, you can for example rent one of the apartments or hotel rooms. You can also rent a small space on the street if you fancy the life as a homeless person, set up your shack on top of a building or be an underground dweller in the sewers. Rental prices are per prim used, not per apartment size. So if you just want to live here, you are free to do so at no cost. But if you like to place your own objects for a longer period of time, you need to pay L$1.5 per prim per week. Please contact Toy Wylie for more information and rental setup.

The Future:
=============

Wylieville is still a work in progress. A lot of things need to be added, expanded, made more interactive. We will add to the city as we go, giving you new things to explore as time goes by.
